Associate Professor Dr. Deniz Gokce (born 1942 in Istanbul) is a graduate of University of Ankara, Faculty of Polictical Sciences (1968), Georgia State University USA MBA in France (1973) and PhD on the same subject (1980).

Dr. Gokce was a lecturer at Georgia State University, USA (1972-1976); at Emory University, USA (1976-1981); acted as consultant on economics and finance to Turkish Industrials & Businessman Association (1993-1994) and number of local banks and companies as well as to international banks and financial institutions. He has been daily columnist on economics and finance in local papers such as Nokta, Sabah, Hurriyet, Yeniyuzyil, Ekonomik Bulten, Monitor, Aksam, Finans Dunyasi. He has appeared on Ekodiyalog over many years together with Asaf Savas Akat, Mahvi Egilmez, Ege Cansen and Taner Berksoy at NTV. Currently Dr. Gokce is a lecturer at Bahcesehir University, Turkey.

Ali Seydi Karaoglu was born in 1962, Malatya. He graduated from Anadolu University - Deparment of Business Administration.

Mr. Karaoglu has been commissioned at TOKI's Istanbul Branch in 2004 after the Land Office has been cancelled and its rights and liabilities has been transferred to Housing Development Administration by the approval of prime Ministry in 2004. TOKI continues to work on its studies towards contribution to the Housing Mobilization and Land Production Mission it has undertaken with the experiences gained and provides the functions of determining the Project areas around Istanbul and Marmara Region and transferring the ownership of such areas foreseen to the Administration.

Most important study among the others is the one that is related to the preparation of the Project on an area specified Küçükçekmece, Esenler, Maltepe, Atasehir and Basaksehir transfers to made to the Administration from Treasury, expropriations and agreements for the purposes of allocating the residental units that will be affected from a probable eartquake in Marmara Region as well as the wrecks and shanty town locations.

Director of Urban Transformation, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), Turkey

Idris Atabay was born in 1967, Artvin-Borçka. He graduated from Yildiz University-Department of Construction Engineering, and from Anadolu University-Department of Accounting and Finance. He completed his military service short term as private. Until May 1997, he worked as project and construction site engineer.

Mr. Atabay worked as a member of supervision committee of Technical Staff Association; and a member of the association's Executive Board. He also served as the executive of education commission at the same association. During this duty, he gave lectures to construction workers with district municipalities, about the 'solidification of weak buildings, repairment of damaged buildings, and prerequisites of constructing buildings'. He, thus, contributed to the education of 1150 construction workers.

Idris Atabay started to work at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in 1997. He served as an engineer at the Directorate of Technical Affairs and Directorate of New Settlements. He was appointed to be the Deputy Director of the Directorate of Expropriation in March, 2003. He became the director of Directorate of Expropriation on November 15, 2006. On July 2009, Idris Atabay was appointed as Director of Urban Transformation.

Adnan Dalgakiran was born in Istanbul, on 1962. After graduating from Kabatas Erkek High School, he studied Chemistry Engineering in Istanbul University, Faculty of Chemistry Department. In his high school years, he started working in his family's company, Dalgakiran Kompresör, and after completing military obligation, he acceded in the company, making it one of the most leading companies in the sector all over the world, by exporting to 100 different countries and having their own companies in 5 countries.

Being the Chairman of Middle Anatolia Machinery Exporters Union for 3 terms, Adnan Dalgakiran contributed in forming the Turkish Machinary Industry Inventory and conceptualized the project of Associated Purchase Organization (OSO) which will increase the advantage of competition in machinery industry. Moreover, he put Turqum, which is a sign of Turkish machinery quality, into practice. He also leaded in forming the Machine Presentation Group who aims to minimize the gap in machinery sector, which forms the biggest foreign trade deficit, by increasing the awareness about the domestic machine manufacturers, and actualized a campaign named "TIKIR TIKIR".

At present, Adnan Dalgakiran continues his actions as a council member of Istanbul Chamber of Industry, a Board Member of Turkish Exporters Council, a member of TOBB machinery sector comimision besides being the Chairman of OAIB Machine Exporters Association.

Managing Partner, Ege Cimento, Turkey

Mr. Abut Ozsezikli has born at 1973, he graduated from Lisle Sn. High School/USA. He has continued his higher education At University of Marmara and finally graduated from Belloit Collage with B.A. at Business administration. He has obtained a MBA degree from University of Marmara specializing at strategic management and feasibility analysis.

Mr. Ozsezikli has started his cement carrier at Cemex at 1996 and continue until 2004 as Country manager and leading projects at different countries. He has involved at high level cement and clinker trading activities whit various companies which he has been partner and the level reached over 4 million MT. At 2004 he has co-founded one of the largest in-depended cement grinding facility at Turkey. For a period he has returned to professional work life as CEO and Board member of the largest single cement producing factory at Europe. Currently Mr. Ozsezikli continues operating cement import terminals, grinding plants and trading cement and Clinker.

Economics & Statistics Officer, European Cement Producers Association, Belgium

Mr. Karas has worked in the field of industrial economics for more than five years. In 2009, he joined CEMBUREAU - The European Cement Association, where he is in charge of Economics and Statistics. He has previously worked for an SME construction company, as well as for the European Commission's Directorate-General for Industry and Entrepreneurship, where he dealt with the cement sector and EU environmental and trade policy-related issues.

He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Bologna (Italy) and is about to graduate from a Masters in European Integration and Development at the University of Brussels (Belgium). Mr. Karas is fluent in English, Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

Mr. Yildirim is the President of KUB which is the Turkish Association of Concrete and Mortar Admixtures Manufacturers since 2010. Mr. Yildirim obtained his Master degree in Production Management & Marketing after earning his B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering.

He started to work for Sika Turkey in 2000 as a Deputy Sales & Marketing Manager. He was appointed as the Regional Business Unit Manager (Distribution Sales Channel) for Sika IMEA Region (India, Middle East and Africa) consisting of more than 25 countries in 2008. He was appointed as General Manager of Sika Turkey as well as Area Manager of the countries in the Central Asia & Caucaus Area consisting of 10 countries since 2009.

Dr. Ahmed Raza is a young, energetic innovative businessman, basically qualified as a Dentist from Institute of Public Health- Punjab Medical Faculty, Lahore - Pakistan and served as a Dentist for more tha 5 Years.

As a member of 2000 MT/day cement trading family since last 20 years, Dr.Raza realized the necessity of time and founded Raza Trading Group (RTG) in 2001 starting with stocks trading in Karachi Stock Exchange and Cement, Clinker & Rice Export to India, Middle East and Africa simaltaneously.

Under his Chairpersonship, RTG enjoyed as one of the largest exporter and trader of Cement & Clinker from Pakistan. With his broader vision and distintive experiance in International Marketing, Shipping & Logistics and Product handling, RTG is now serving in Singapore, Kenya, Ethiopia, UAE and Pakistan.

Business Development & Tendering Director, Ender Insaat, Turkey

After the graduation in Civil Engineering at the Middle East Technical University in 1987 in Ankara Mr. Ustabasi has worked with Turkish - Saudi partnership companies in Saudi Arabia in various job posts. While working for Binladen Group Mr. Ustabasi has developed proficiency in precast business sector. The company's activities expanded from road works and constructions to diversified activities with numerous offshoots worldwide.

Having returned back to Turkey in 1992, Mr. Ustabasi has started working for ESTON (one of the leading precast companies in Turkey), on Toprakkale-Iskenderun Highway Construction. Following company's investments Mr. Ustabasi started working as a Factory Manager in Trakya region. Between 2000-2002 Mr. Ustabasi worked as Technical Manager of precast facility in Nigde - part of NIGBAS Co. (listed on Istanbul Stock Exchange).

In 2002 Mr. Ustabasi started working for BESIX Co. Belgium, in Libya which specialised in production of all types of precast elements to create 2.800 mt long jetty. BESIX Group is the largest Belgian construction group, a conglomerate of companies active in the construction, engineering, environmental, real estate and concession sectors. Between 2008-2011 Mr. Ustabasi worked in Saudi Arabia again, for ASSAD SAID Construction and ADO Const. Co (a joint venture), specialising in construction and investment planning of the precast plant.

From September 2011 until present, Mr. Ustabasi is working as Business Developement Director for Ender Construction, which is one of the leading building and liable companies of Turkey. and is a member of Yön Group of Companies.

Director, Group DML, Belgium

Mr. Yves De Moor has a degree in accountancy and fiscal sciences and previously to becoming trader a career of 20 years in the automotive logistics. Since end of 2007 he got involved into cement trade, first to Russia, now exclusively to the West-Coast of Africa, to countries like Congo RDC and Angola.

In 2008 he developed in Nikolaev, UA the project of the first dry bulk terminal for cement, alumina and other dry bulk commodities. The crisis has since 2008 put this US.$.25Mn project “on hold”. Since then all his focus was dedicated to Africa.

Today Yves is a real geopolitical expert with special attention to “China in Africa”. Based upon his experience on the field and the difficulties European contractors have to win major public tenders, he developed an innovative financing instrument to allow European contractors to compete with Chinese State companies. His concept drew the attention of the European Commission and it is currently under development in work groups in Brussels. If implemented, this financing instrument will allow African nations access to EUR.10-50 Bn project financing per year.

Today Group DML is involved into trade of cement and steel, consulting for the infrastructure sector in general, for the Tanzanian Govt for their infrastructure PPP’s and Yves worked as economic advisor for a Marshall plan for Congo RDC.

Last but not least Yves develops his own industrial projects:
  • a cement terminal in Cabinda, Angola
  • a rail car plant in Benguela, Angola
Yves intends to move to Africa in the future because the industrialisation of Africa offers enormous potential for growth and rapid return on investment.

President, Marvel Ltd, Turkey

Founder of Marvelint. Mng. & Trabs.Co. Ltd. Mr. Levent Karacelik was born in Bartin - Turkey on 16/03/1952. After graduating from Istanbul University - Law faculty, Levent has completed Master degree on Maritime Law. He then worked in a private shipping company as an Assistant Manager of Chartering Department from 1972 until 1980.

Thereafter, he has worked as a Founder and CEO of Marti Group between 1980 - 1988. He has established Marvel in 1988. He is married and is a father of a son and a daughter.

Mr. Karacelik has 36 years experience in shipping / chartering / shipowning. He has represented Turkish shipping community as the Turkish delegate in organisations like Bimco & Fonasba for many years.

He has been the Vice President of B.O.D of Chamber of Shipping for 8 years and Vice President of the Assembly of the Chamber of Shipping for 4 years and Vice President of Turkish Ship owners Association for 4 years.

Marvel has acted as Ship Manager since establishment of the company and at the moment is operating a fleet of around 22 vessels between 5,000 to 70,000 DWT. These vessels are operated as Managers by Marvel.

Deputy General Director, Rusmet Group, Russia

Mr. Rodionov has graduated from Radio engineering faculty of Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Technical University) in 1998 with Master of Science degree. During his study Mr. Rodionov worked on pseudo-chaotic oscillations and signals forming and its use in communications.

Since the very start of his career Mr. Rodionov joined Rusmet team, a group of research and consulting companies, working in the field of metallurgy, cement, oil, grain and agriculture, recruitment and headhunting, education, business intelligence, etc.

At present, Mr. Rodionov is Deputy General Manager and Senior Analyst in Rusmet Group. His sphere of interests includes Russian ferrous metallurgy (scrap market in particular) and cement industry. Mr. Rodionov had some published papers on radio engineering, prepared during his study at MPEI(TU), and a number of papers and presentations on scrap market, ferrous metallurgy, cement industry and construction, prepared and presented during his work at Rusmet. Mr. Rodionov is married.

General Manager, Akcansa Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret. A.S., Turkey

Born in 1968, Hakan Gürdal obtained his post graduate degrees in business administration and economics after earning his BA degree in Machine Engineering. Mr. Gürdal started working at Çanakkale Çimento in 1992. In 1996 he was appointed as Akçansa Strategy and Business Development Manager and as Assistant General Manager Responsible for Trade in 1997. Mr. Gürdal was appointed as Akçansa General Manager on August 1, 2008.

Co-Managing Director, DSG Consultants, France

Co founder and manager of DsG Consultants since July 2011, Ms Sylvie Doutres has worked as consultant in the port sector for 20 years. After graduating from Economics (Master 1) at Perpignan University, she obtained a Master 2 in International Trade & Logistics for Export. She began working in a Business centre in Barcelona as International Customers Manager and then joined RDM Consultants, in 1992, as consultant for port intelligence surveys and missions. She became managing director of RDM Consultants in 2001, for 10 years (till May 2011).

Specialized in port strategy and international development & marketing assistance (maritime and inland navigation), she works with private and public companies involved in port activities, as Senior Port consultant and has developed an expertise of European and Med countries port organizations. Her company, DsG Consultants, can run all dry bulk commodities maritime and port logistics & marketing surveys (cement included).

Ali Nuhoglu was born in Of, Trabzon, in 1962. He completed his primary education in Trabzon and completed his secondary education in Istanbul. After that he studied legal education (law) in Sophia University until 1998. Nuhoglu Construction has been established since 1986. Mr. Ali Nuhoglu was elected to be on the Board of Directors. He fluently speaks Russian, Bulgarian and Arabic. He is married and has 3 children.

Project Manager, Entsorga SpA, United Kingdom

David was born and lives in England and has two teenage children. David is a Chartered Civil Engineer and a Chartered Wastes Manager with an MSc in Engineering Management from Bristol University. He was Chairman of the SW Region of the UK's Chartered Institution of Wastes Management 2007/9 and currently sits on the CIWM's Scientific and Technical Committee.

David joined Entsorga in August 2008 a company specializing in the treatment aerobically of waste products where he is a Development Manager. Prior to Entsorga, David's work included:
  • As Project Manger oversaw from concept to delivery and operation of a full suite of waste management facilities in UK and abroad.
  • Providing advice on the use of waste management technologies to gain carbon credits.
  • Providing technical and contract advice on a variety of waste management technologies, including, AD, IVC, MBT and landfill engineering in UK and abroad.
  • Advising a Minister of Environment on various environmental issues.
  • Provided a full project and contract management and deliveryof over 7 different carbon offset projects from concept for one of the world's major offset companies in Africa.
  • Project managed from conception to delivery what the client claims to be the first low carbon village in the developing world - this project won a major environmental award and was put forward to the European 2009 final.
Outside of work, David is a keen long distance off-road runner and regularly plays tennis.

Mr. Popham live in Wales, UK and has an active interest in sustainable development. After leaving college, his early career was in Civil Engineering working on road construction. where he gained extensive experience in shuttered concrete and the use of alternative cements and cement replacements.

Mr. Popham then moved in ready-mix concrete and owned and operated his own regional ready-mix concrete business which expanded and opened a limestone quarry and sand wharf. During that time Mr. Popham become aware of a new technology using alternative raw materials to make cement replacements invented by a local Welsh (Gary Hunt) who came from a precast concrete background. Thereafter, Mr. Popham decided to form a business to commercial this technology and today he is responsible for all commercial aspects of the business and leads the work on maximising the use of alterative cement replacements and the cost and carbon benefits this can bring to the cement industry.

International Project Manager, Sistemas de Transferencia de Calor SA, Spain

Mr. Martinez joined STC to increase the reach of the company abroad and currently carries out various international projects. He is responsible for being the link between the client and the technical team, in charge of covering the proposal elaboration phase, providing advice on the use of sludge management technologies and carrying out some market research. He represents the company in the congresses and seminars.

Dr. Celik was born in 1975. He has graduated from Çukurova University Mining Engineering Department in 1997 with the first degree. After graduation, he has worked as a Research Assistant and in 1999 as a Lecturer at the same department.

From 2001 to 2004, Dr. Celik has worked as an Engineer and then Head Engineer in Mineral Research and Exploration, MTA, Ankara. From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Celik has also worked as an Executive Board Member of the Chamber of Mining Engineers. He has completed MSc studies in 2002, and PhD studies in 2010. Mehmet Fatih Kocabeyler (born 1965 in Antalya) is a graduate of Civil Engineering Department at Middle East Technical University (METU) (1988), Master of Science at Cleveland State University USA (1991).

Mr. Kocabeyler has been working at State Hydraulic Works (DSI), Technical Research and Quality Control Department since 1991. He first worked as a Research Engineer at Concrete and Materials Laboratory Section. He then worked as a Director at the same laboratory. He was a lecturer at Hacettepe University (February 1998 - July 1999) and at Middle East Technical University (February 2006 - January 2007). He has beenworking as the Head of Technical Research and Quality Control Department at State Hydraulic Works (DSI) since June 2010.
